This Calculator will give you the square footage needed of each tile size when laying modular patterns. Pinwheel patterns are common and can be layed with any 2 sizes of tile. This will calculate patterns using up to 6 different sizes (even though I don't know of any patterns that take 6 sizes, maybe you will come up with one).
